The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at MES Medical College, Perinthalmanna , over the years, has emerged into a ‘Centre of Excellence in Gynaecological Surgeries’ catering to the entire Malabar region since its inception. This department ,having performed over 10,000 surgeries till date , has become the focus of attention of the medical fraternity. We feel privileged to put it on record that close to 70% of our Gynaecological surgeries are via the Laparoscopic / Hysteroscopic route (Minimally Invasive Surgeries), which is an enviable recognition when compared to any other Medical College in the country. We provide reliable surgical care of the highest quality and that too at a very nominal cost, which has accounted for the consistently increasing patient population of this Hospital. This also ensures that poorer patients belonging to the weaker sections of the society have an access to advanced treatment modalities here.

The Department’s other areas of expertise include Gynaec-Onco Surgeries for management of Uterine/Cervical and Ovarian Malignancies,Uro-Gynaecological Surgeries as well as management of High risk pregnancies.
