The goal of the teaching of undergraduate students in Forensic medicine is to produce a physician who is well informed about medico legal responsibilities in practice of medicine. He/she acquires knowledge of law in relation to medical practice, medical negligence and respect for codes of medical ethics.

Facilities:

The department maintains a Library with reference Books and journals prescribed for the Department. Academic programme’s are conducted in this Department to enable the Medical students and young doctors in handling medico legal issues like examination of the injurred and furnishing wound certificate, postmortem examination ,management of poisoning cases etc.\Mot Courts conducted here generate knowledge regarding court proceedings in general and help them to behave as an expert witness. Academic sessions on medical law and ethics, help them understand their rights,duties and privileges as a doctor.
